Barker Munro Insurance Recruitment are again working with a multi-site insurance brokers for a position within their Bexhill office. My client wishes to secure the services of a Commercial Insurance Account Handler.

Some commercial insurance experience is necessary.  This is an office based job working in a busy commercial department as part of a team.  The successful candidate will when trained have their own book of renewals to handle.

The job role consists of:

The servicing of commercial clients insurance requirements, for new business, renewals, midterm adjustments, and claims, to produce new business income and maximise renewal retention in line with the company budget expectations; in accordance with Company procedures and regulatory requirements.

Main Tasks

To prioritise and organise own workload to ensure that deadlines are adhered to.

To construct effective written communications and demonstrate effective telephone skills.

Develop and maintain good relationships with insurers and clients.

Undertake general administration as required.

Manage individual and department diary system as necessary.

Provide administrative and broking support to senior colleagues within the department.

Ensure that renewals are reviewed and processed in accordance with company procedures and regulatory requirements.

Manage the collection and processing of premiums from clients and the smooth running of the company’s credit control procedures. Assist the accounts department with queries.

Respond promptly and in a courteous and helpful manner to queries, ensuring that all communications with clients, insurers or other relevant business contacts are accurately recorded in writing. Ensure that all information required by clients or underwriters is obtained and communicated promptly.

Maintain records in accordance with the company’s procedures and regulatory requirements.

Generate enquiries by prospecting and pro-actively selling; making outbound telephone calls and organising mail-shots.

Analyse client needs and develop solutions.  Using the information gathered, determine which Insurers will provide the most competitive rates for the covers required and provide a quotation to fulfil the client’s needs, advising them of any needs that are not met.

Discuss any “additional” covers to ensure that all insurance requirements are satisfied.

The position is one of a 9am to 5pm office based role only working Monday to Friday – NO weekends. Also there is a very generous paid holiday of 25 days + bank holidays.
