Commercial Claims Negotiator

Barker Munro Recruitment are currently working with this established and long standing respectable insurance broker who are seeking an experienced commercial claims handler to join their team.

As a pivotal person in the team, you will handle a wide variety of claims from a range of Commercial markets, so ideally you will have a varied exposure to commercial insurance claims including areas such as EL/PL/ PI, Property Damage and Motor Fleet Vehicle and/or Motor Trade claims.

The Team is very much focused on customer satisfaction and being able to provide expert guidance and negotiation during the claims process along with a prompt and efficient service.

As well as managing your own caseload of claims, you’ll have a good understanding of the Commercial Claims process and being able to share this knowledge with other handlers in the team. You will be able to manage and own all claims from start to finish, whilst ensuring that each client experiences a positive journey. You’ll therefore be a confident and empathetic communicator, able to deal with the challenges that claims can often throw up and able to guide each client with careful and tailored advice.

So, if you’ve been managing all aspects of Commercial claims at either an insurer, broker or in a Loss Adjusting firm, enjoy solving problems, are an analytical thinker and pride yourself on being a resilient people person who’s not afraid to ask questions, this role could be the next step for you in 2021.

To be considered for the role, you will ideally be able to demonstrate some of these key attributes

• A good knowledge of handling motor vehicle fleet and/or motor trade (road risk) claims (preferred, but not essential)
• A good knowledge of pre-action protocols and timeframes within portability on Liability claims
• Experience of Property Damage claims
• A good understanding of EL/PL and PI claims
• Risk Management advice, including spotting claims trends and the remedial action needed.
• Effective, confident & considerate communication and an ability to adapt your communication style accordingly
• Negotiation skills and decision-making confidence
• IT confident and knowledge of insurance systems

The client also supports CII qualifications. So, if you have already started these that is definite positive. However, if you haven’t but wish to start studying the CII, they will fully support this for you.
