About the Role
Head of Compliance
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Compliance to oversee and manage the compliance framework and operational activities within the organisation. This pivotal role will ensure that all operations adhere to regulatory requirements and internal policies, particularly within the banking sector.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in the underwriting and/or delegated underwriting markets alongside experience and exposure in the compliance management, internal audits, and regulatory reporting.
Responsibilities
• Develop, implement, and maintain an effective compliance programme that aligns with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
• Conduct regular internal audits to assess compliance with policies and procedures, identifying areas for improvement.
• Prepare and submit accurate regulatory reports to relevant authorities in a timely manner.
• Liaise with various departments to ensure compliance-related issues are addressed promptly and effectively.
• To review and update Policy documentation, as and when required
• Prepare and issue FCA and Lloyds of London reporting in a timely fashion
• Provide training and guidance to staff on compliance matters, fostering a culture of compliance throughout the organisation.
• Monitor changes in legislation and regulations affecting the insurance sector, ensuring the organisation remains compliant at all times
• Collaborate with senior management to develop strategies that mitigate compliance risks.
Requirements
• Proven experience in compliance management within the insurance sector.
• Strong knowledge of regulatory frameworks applicable to insurers or MGA’s.
• Experience conducting internal audits and preparing regulatory reports.
• Strong knowledge of managing quality processes and procedures
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex information clearly.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating leadership capabilities.
