About the Role
Claims Handler – Commercial
Location: Dartford area, Kent
Salary: £38,000 - £50,000
Working pattern: Office-based, Monday–Friday, 9am–5pm
Barker Munro Recruitment is delighted to be working with a dynamic and growing commercial insurance broker in Dartford who is seeking an experienced Commercial Claims Handler to join their high-performing team.

You’ll be at the heart of the broker’s claims service, delivering confident, proactive support to commercial clients ranging from £5,000 to £300,000 GWP. Their client base spans motor/fleet, liability and material damage – including both standard and complex placements.
This is a role for someone who loves getting stuck in, communicates clearly, and enjoys driving claims to resolution through strong insurer, adjuster and third-party engagement.
Manage a portfolio of commercial claims across motor/fleet, liability and material damage, plus other related classes.
Handle first notification of loss: sense-check cover, manage expectations, gather evidence and progress quickly.
Liaise effectively with insurers, loss adjusters, solicitors, engineers and third parties.
Keep clients updated with clear, regular communication and maintain exemplary file documentation.
Escalate disputes early and support complaint avoidance.
Requirements;
Minimum 3 years’ commercial claims handling experience.
Strong communication skills – calm, reassuring, proactive, client-focused.
A driven approach to progressing claims with insurers and experts.
Excellent documentation and file management discipline.
