Barker Munro Recruitment is delighted to be recruiting for a Commercial Account Handler to join the Corporate team of a leading insurance broker in Colchester. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic and growing business that is making a real impact in the insurance market.
The Role
As a Commercial Account Handler, you will support the Corporate team in managing the administration of clients’ insurance requirements. Your responsibilities will include handling general enquiries, renewals, mid-term adjustments, obtaining quotations, and managing premium invoicing. You will work closely with Mid-Market and Corporate clients, ensuring the highest standards of client service at every stage.
As a Commercial Account Handler, you will support the Corporate team in managing the administration of clients’ insurance requirements. Your responsibilities will include handling general enquiries, renewals, mid-term adjustments, obtaining quotations, and managing premium invoicing. You will work closely with Mid-Market and Corporate clients, ensuring the highest standards of client service at every stage.
You will also:
- Liaise with Account Executives to develop effective renewal strategies
- Attend client meetings as necessary
- Obtain renewal terms and issue renewal documentation
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and insurers
About You
We are looking for candidates with solid commercial broking experience, ideally with progress toward CII qualifications (or a desire to study). The ideal applicant will have:

- Experience managing the full renewal process
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- First-class client service and negotiation skills
