Team Manager - Commercial Insurance

We are looking to hire an inspiring Team Manager to lead a high-performing commercial insurance team, driving operational excellence, customer satisfaction, and profitable business growth.

The Role
As Team Manager, you will be responsible for leading, coaching, and developing a team within the commercial insurance operation in Kent. You'll create a culture of accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement while ensuring key performance, quality, and profitability objectives are achieved.
Working closely with senior stakeholders, you will translate business strategy into effective team execution, balancing customer outcomes with commercial objectives.

Key Responsibilities
• Lead, motivate, and develop a team of commercial insurance professionals to achieve and exceed performance targets.
• Drive profitability through effective management of underwriting, sales, service, and retention activities.
• Monitor and analyse performance metrics, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing appropriate actions.
• Deliver high levels of customer service whilst maintaining strong commercial and risk management disciplines.
• Coach and support colleagues through regular performance reviews, development plans, and ongoing feedback.
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and high-performing team culture.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, company standards, and governance frameworks.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to support business initiatives, change programmes, and continuous improvement activities.
• Manage resource planning, workload allocation, and operational efficiency across the team.
• Identify trends, risks, and opportunities that contribute to sustainable business growth.

We're looking for a confident and engaging leader with a proven track record of delivering results within a commercial insurance setting.
• Previous leadership or management experience within commercial insurance.
• Strong understanding of insurance operations, customer service, and commercial performance drivers.
• Proven ability to improve team performance and deliver profitable growth.
• Experience coaching, developing, and motivating teams to achieve outstanding results.
• Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Ability to lead through change and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Good understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements within the insurance sector.
Desirable
• Professional insurance qualifications (Cert CII, Dip CII, or equivalent).
• Experience managing underwriting, client service, broker, or account management teams.
• Knowledge of performance management frameworks and operational excellence methodologies.
