Barker Munro recruitment has a brand new opportunity for either a solicitor or experienced Paralegal to work within this customer focussed, Motor and household Insurance Claims provider as a Litigator.

You will handle the conduct of litigation of claims arising under Motor and Household policies, liaising with insurers, their policyholders, third parties and suppliers, as necessary. You will also maintain the portfolio in an efficient manner to ensure that you are working effectively and delivering a market leading litigation service with excellent customer service

This is a varied role involving claims for damage to motor vehicles, homes, and contents. The actions will be brought mainly in the Small Claims Court.

The role will require you to:

• Manage your own case load under supervision
• Review documents and advise on liability, quantum, and strategy
• Conduct investigations including document searches
• Carry out legal research
• Draft pleadings, applications, and statements
• Attend court as necessary

We are seeking applications from candidates with relevant legal qualifications, including a law degree and/or legal practice course and/or ILEX. You should have experience of handling litigation, preferably within the insurance sector and have a good understanding of Court Procedure Rules and litigation management. Proven capability of claims negotiation and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
